Optoma has unveiled its first projector to use laser phosphor illumination technology, with the launch of the ZU650. Designed for the professional installation market, this new high brightness ProScene model provides an astonishing 20,000 hours of impressive, virtually maintenance free operation and eliminates the need for lamp and filter replacements.
Justin Halls, Head of Product Marketing at Optoma, commented: “We are delighted to launch the bright 6000 lumen ZU650. It’s the perfect solution for any application requiring 24/7 operation that demands no down time. By eliminating the need for lamp or filter replacements, the ZU650 provides a lower cost of ownership and will future proof any installation.”
Perfect for meeting rooms, boardrooms, auditoriums, museums and other large venues, the laser phosphor light source delivers great colours and more consistent brightness, along with high resolution and contrast for stunning quality images. It is also ultra-quiet making the ZU650 an ideal companion for quieter environments, smaller rooms or those with lower ceilings
Flexible installation is provided by 360˚ rotation and portrait mode operation combined with an extensive lens shift range and five optional lenses which attach and detach with one-touch ease. HDBaseT comes as standard, giving integrators a simple and affordable solution when connecting and controlling the projector.
The wired remote functionality allows all aspects of the projector to be individually controlled without requiring line-of-sight; which is invaluable when using multiple units during live events.
Full support is provided for Crestron, Extron, AMX, PJ-Link and Telnet LAN protocols, which allow almost all functions to be controlled remotely across a network. Once installed, multiple ZU650 projectors can be monitored and controlled over LAN. It can also provide email message alerts if an error occurs, using Crestron Roomview™ software.
The ZU650 features quick start-up and shutdown and reaches full brightness in seconds. To maximise energy saving it also includes an ‘AV mute’ feature where the light source can be completely shut off. And unlike conventional lamp based projectors, the laser phosphor light source requires minimal cool-down time.
Where detail really matters, the full WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution offers 15% more pixels than 1080p and 60% more than SXGA+. This enables unscaled Full HD video and extra detail. Time code information can be displayed onscreen at the same time, perfect for soundtrack recording and video editing where precise timing can be critical.
The Optoma ProScene range is available through certified partners only. The network of ProScene partners is made up of the most experienced AV installers and integrators to ensure total support and service excellence for demanding professional applications.
Through Optoma’s partners, customers have access to specially-trained Optoma support and service teams available from the initial design and planning phase of a project, to the installation stages and beyond.
The ZU650 is available in both black and white as standard. A full specification sheet together with information on the ProScene professional installation product range are available from www.optoma.com
